I have read that you can use 38/357 bullets in the 35Whelen for fun shooting. Not to sure how accurate they will be. I have a 100 or so under my bench so i thought i would try.
Will be using RE15 with 158gr JSP. What load should i start out with. I am thinking 48.0grs of RE15 Any help please.
OH yeah, it will be used in a T/C single shot Encore rifle.

I would not begin to guess on the RL-15 load. I would wonder how much velocity the hand gun bullet would take as well.

One thing you can do is fill the case to the base with Trail Boss for a light fun load. Do not compress TB. I have done it with a .30-30 and .30 carbine bullets, and plan to do it with .357 bullets in my .35 Remington one of these days.

Jacketed shot better than leaded in my rifle. Leaded was in fact awful. No idea as I have not shot that rifle in a while.

I used AA5744 an excellent cast bullet powder.

At least 11 X 18 group at 100 yards. No leading.

If those are handgun bullets I would be concerned they won't hold together when shot at rifle velocities. If they are rated for the .357 Magnum you will have a better chance at success.

The two 35 Whelen rifles I have shot with 158 gr XTP and 10 gr of pistol powder both shot remarkably well.
