Looking for some suggestions on a Scope for my new .17Hmr Rifle.
Here are the specifics:
.17Hmr Savage 93R17FVSS (Stainless/Synthetic) with accutrigger
I will be using the rifle for the following:
90% of the time it will be used to punch paper at 100/150 yards
10% of the time it will be used as a Varmint Rig (Woodchucks, Rabbits etc)
I am looking to spend no More than $300-350 (at the most) on glass. Looking for something with more magnification than a 3-9x but dont need to get too ridiculous. Possibly 4-14X or even as high as 18x or 20x on the top end.
So what do you guys think? Looking for decent glass as I want to take advantage of the accuracy of the .17Hmr but dont want to break the bank. The rifle only cost $269.00.
Opinions on some of the smaller name scope companies would be appreciated. Nikko Sterling, Sightron, Swift, Millet etc.. I know the Leopolds, Bushnells etc are out there, just not sure if you are paying for the "name" or the quaility of product...
Thanks
all opinions/advice is very much appreciated.
