Perhaps, but that would mainly affect the tension on the hammer which adjusting would help to strike the caps harder or softer.
Whereas the fitting and the feel of the sear and the amount and quality of the trigger travel is what I was disappointed about.
Some sears fit better and feel crisp when released, while others are poorly fit which causes the trigger to have slack and feel gritty before releasing.
Individual triggers can all have a different fit but if the part is not carefully fitted then the chances are that it won't fit well enough to function as a crisp trigger.
It's not allowed to adjust the main spring tension screw on a brand new gun during a casual inspection inside the store.
If it's being shipped to own's home then sure, adjust the screw to see if it helps.
And some folks could probably improve their trigger quality with some careful fitting at home.
I think that the Pietta 1860 triggers that I tried the week before felt a lot better right out of the box than the Remingtons that I tried. 2 out 3 of those were good, with one having too much slack with extra long travel before releasing.
