an P.S.

the gun is in great condition. the bolt works as smooth as butter.

The SA in a box is a Finnish arsenal stamp - meaning it was captured by the Finns during the Winter (Finland-Soviet) War. SA = Suomen Armeija

The markings are as previously noted for an Izhevesk rifle, 1909. The bow and arrow on the receiver is an Izhevsk stamp. The peened eagles are Imperial Russian markings, obliterated by the Bolsheviks.

For $125 I think you done pretty good. I've seen comparable examples (but all matching) as high as $250. You done pretty good.

You have a Finn capture....

rifle. The SA means the Finn army arsenal inspected the rifle and released it for service. That rifle was captured from the Russians during the Finnish war of independence in 1917. It was used in any conflict from then on. It has a Remington or New England Westinghouse walnut stock. I see the sling dog collars are in place. As stated above, go to 7.62x54R.net. There you will find all about your rifle. You done good at 125 bucks. Rifles like that go for 300 bucks around here......chris3

If the bore is good, no cracks in stock etc, usually around $200-250.
We don't expect Finn marked rifles to have matching numbers, so that usually doesn't detract too much.
