I have recently purchased a 1,415,3XX 1903 action for use in a future custom rig. This action is well within the nickel steel production but the bolt marking are of question for me. The bolt has a swept handle and is marked BF 46. I'm far less concerned with originality(and price too I guess) but would like to know what sort of steel this bolt was made from? I haven't received the action yet and can only work on the photos on gunbroker. I would like to chamber this rifle in .257 AI, most likely a Kreiger CM barrel. The stock Ill use is still in the thought process. Any comments as to this type of action are appreciated.

BF is Bonney Forge, Mt. Union, PA. The bolt is a WWII replacement and as good as they get.
