cliffs:

incompetent gunsmith fitted a barrel bushing by removing material from the slide:fire:

inexperienced owner (me) was puzzled by multiple bushings becoming loosey goosey:confused:

master gunsmith machines a threaded sleeve over the Bar-Sto match barrel, then machines an Officer-like spring plug :)

problem solved

not so pretty, but it's a shooter, so sue me :p

thanks!

Well, I tested today out to 50 yds.

It shot the lights out.

Then it shot the end of the spring plug out! :)

Gunsmith is repairing the plug this afternoon.

Hope to shoot it some more tomorrow.

Mr. doc540?

Consider yourself served sir.

What am I suing you for? Well I would think it obvious, the fact that you post it here, extol it's virtues and yet I cannot have one identical to it.

You are being sued for creating excessive jealousy with little opportunity for commercial satisfaction. Defend that if you can. See you in the court of forum pleas.

Actually, while being incompetent as a 1911 gunsmith, he was a long-time friend and an award winning builder of some fine hotrods.

He died tragically last year.:(

Congratulations on valuing your friend over material things. That's a lesson that takes years for some to learn, and some never do. Their loss. Sorry for your loss, too.
Regards,
George J.
