I have a 1911 that I've had for a while and it works fine. I've noticed over the last several years that the ejector is almost always loose. It's a regular GM (not extended) ejector and it has the cross pin in the frame. The ejector gets loose now everytime I shoot the gun. When I clean the gun I use a pin punch to tap the cross pin and tighten the ejector in the frame. Otherwise, the legs of the ejector would be loose in the frame. Some questions: When assembed in the gun the ejector will not come out, so is it a problem to leave the ejector somewhat loose in the gun? Will the looseness cause damage to the frame over time? If the ejector needs to be firmly fixed in the frame, can I epoxy it in?
