I'm fitting an EGW oversized firing pin stop to my Colt 1911. My question is, must the firing pin stop be absolutely flush where it mates with the bottom of the slide? The EGW stop protrudes just ever so slightly below the slide. The difference is maybe the thickness of a finger nail, if that. If I need to shorten it for better fitting, should I file the top of the stop down a bit, along with the radiused upper edges so it will fit a little further up into the slide? Thanks.
