Whats the deal with dan wesson. I know the valor is really considered top rate and pushing up to the baer/wilson class. But i thout the lower priced models are/where built on phillipino frames?
I really wanted a basic colt 1991 and had to wait almost a year to find one in stock at a decen price (buds) but i finally got what i wanted. 835 plus 25$ transfer 860$ total in that range i think its a great deal

No Dan Wessons are made anywhere but the US. I think you are confusion them with STI.

Um, no. US manufactured. Also, it's not just the Valor that's top shelf. As a rule, they are all pretty well executed.
As mentioned, you are thinking of the STI Spartan, which is actually reputed to be quite a good pistol actually.
DW is owned by CZ, if that matters.
It most definitely should. Cz doesn't just throw it's name (or money) on just anything. Even before it was owned by Cz, DW has always been damn fine (if underappreciated) company.
The fact is that Dan Wesson and Česká zbrojovka may as well be synonymous with quality.
