I thought it would be nice if we could gather various 1911 images into a single thread. That should make it easier for newbies to see what is available out there for 1911s.

I'll start with a picture of the only two 1911s I have at present.

Here's my bastard 1911

disregard the 22a above it. The is the original field stripped and pieced together 1911 with Essex frame, Ithaca slide and colt barrel. It was purchased for $250 at an estate sale and the guy threw in a mauser...

I'd like to post some pics of my 1911 collection, and I will try as soon as I can dry the tears from my eyes after viewing your collection. I seem to have developed a feeling of inadequacy. :eek:

No use posting pix of my sub $400 shooters. I like variety so I have a lot of mid-priced guns and just can't bring myself to sink a grand or more in a single piece. Enjoy looking at y'alls though...
