Got some new grips for 1 of my 1911's when I started to remove the grips the screws just turn. I got the grips off but the bushings r stripped. It seems to me a long time ago they made a self tapping bushing. I have looked and cannot find them anywhere. I guess that is what happens when u get 68 years old ur memory is the second thing that goes by the way side. Any help would be helpful.thanks

Are you sure the threads are stripped in the frame?

Or just the threads on the bushings??

If the frame is striped, you can get over-size bushings & a thread tap here.

New bushings need to be staked in place, or at least Lock-Tighted in place.

Then fitted for length in the grip counter-sinks so the screw heads don't tighten down against the bushings instead of the grips and gall & grab them out again.
