I picked it up used about five years ago. I replaced the FLGR with a GI spring plug, which makes it much easier to field strip. I also installed the rosewood grips and Chip McCormick ambi safety, since it came witha RH safety and I'm a lefty.

1911

Hello, I looked around and searched and i could not find a 1911 club so i figured lets start one. Well to start i have a springfield1911 loaded stainless with a SA magwell and a cylinder and slide trigger job wich takes the trigger pull down to 3.5 pounds.

there are specific ones out there....
I've been going to one for quite sometime now
I find that forums each have their niches.
I've been reading here for years but for the 1911
has almost a cultlike following. Just a lil FYI
try here 1911forum.com

My entry into the club is a Kimber Tactical Ultra II, great carry weapon for me. Has been reliable, accurate and a great carry size. Won't be my last 1911 though, have me eye on a couple of different 5" Kimber models, just trying to decide which one is next to tick off the wife.

I have been working on my RRA wadcutter today.

I put in a Greider long trigger. Sanding it down to fit took longer than I thought, but a great sense of accomplishment. It is not very often that I have every piece of the 1911 spread out in front of me.

Should have taken a picture.

I want in!
My current CCW is a blued Colt Mark IV Lightweight Commander. I've replced the Colt parts with the following:
Old Commercial solid trigger.
High Profile Colt sights, no dots.
Ed Brown plunger tube.
Flat/smooth MSH.
Removed the Series 80 parts and installed a shim.
Skip checkered grips.
I tote it in a Milt Sparks Summer Special II.
This pistol has been 100% with WWB JHP and FMJ.

Here's my entry into the club;
