Well i went today....
handled and Tried them all out. A Sig Scorpion, a LW operator, a S&w1911E tactical, a Kimber (something or other..it wasnt a warrior), a TRP operator and a Colt 80 Rail. There was a para and a RIA in the cabinent never even asked to see those.
The ones that really caught my attention were 1) the Scorpion, i mean that thing just felt like butter. It felt right in my hand, it was the right wt, and it was really loaded in features for the right price, was not crazy about the brown 2) The S&W seemed like a good value, it was tight, smooth, didnt rattle, nicely featured. 3) The Lighwt tactical felt best in my hand, it pointed the best for me, it was not as smooth as the scorpion but was close and then 4) The TRP operator...the "tank" of the group. It was the heaviest, and the tightest, the slide was so tight i could barely cycle it (at first), i could barely activate the slide relase on it...it was a tank and it you needed to be John Deer to work it (that being said i easily took the slide off without the "tool" that all the big shot 1911 tactical guys are always complaing about......i did it first try without much effor (and i have "baby girl hands" and work in an office...not sure what all their bitching is about.....I went back and did it again with the tool later just to compare and eh, works either way for me).
Anyway, one of these went home with me today....
And the winner is: drum rolll
Im going to make you wait, ill post pics later....
You are welcome to guess!
PS, unlike most of you im a 1911 novice, i wont be doing any customization on this thing or changing out any parts or springs etc. Ill get a couple more mags and find a light to mount to the rail and that will be about it. Maybe after i have fired a bazillion rounds through it and start wearing things out....then ill start seeing what i can/need to start replacing.
