The remington is nice and the sights are outstanding, but its a series 80. The series 80 adds a safety system to the trigger and some claim it takes a bit away from the 1911's trademark trigger feel. Also, if you're gonna be a 1911 purist, John Browning's creation was a series 70, the series 80 only came about when lawyers got a hold of the gun.
Also, its pretty simple to completely detail strip a series 70 slide, easy enough that you'll clean out the firing pin channel and extractor and you'll completely mint it out. A series 80 slide is quite a bit more complicated, and you might find yourself not cleaning it as thoroughly.
Me, there is NO advantage of a series 80 gun to offset the added complexity. Gimme a series 70 every time.
