Well my WW1- WW2 rifle needs are being filled slow (or not so slow;)) but sure. Found a great little 1917 Remington. Gauges about 1.75 ME About 95% finish condition and the most CRISP Elmer Keith cartouche from the Ogden Arsenal you can imagine. Can't wait to get her to the range and put her through her paces!

all we THR memebers should come together for some giant re-enactment event.

(Hmm.... well i guess i´ll be the only german running with a K98 from
a horde of Garand-wielding G.I.s :) )

Well if you change your mind, and re-list it, shoot me a PM or something.

I would be interested if you decide to sell it again.

It also looks like the 2nd time you tried to sell it did not work out either, come on it's only been 3 days.

But from you ad, you seem to know how well it shoots, what gives?? You have had this rifle since 2006 right??

Are you trying to generate interest before another auction making it seem like you just got this great deal? Well I am interested, if you cut the BS.

Ok, since the pictures from both ads were identical to yours, and no bids were ever taken on the auctions, I assumed it was still yours. Also since the auction ended Monday, three days ago, I had no idea the seller could have processed you payment and shipped it to you that fast.

Out of curiousness what did you pay for it? I assume you paid less than the $475 it was listed at.

Also, I haven't seen anything on the CMP auction site in quite a while.

When you were at the CMP store this week, did they have any others in decent shape?

I make the assumption that you just bought it from the store, and you mis-typed when you wrote auction, because they don't mail order the 1917's anymore, and have not for quite a while. And I have not seen an auction for one in more than a few weeks. Since you mentioned in another thread, (you posted before the last auction for the rifle above ended) you liked shooting peeps in your 1917.

You wrote in this thread:http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=467687
Used to my 1903 and 1917

I assumed you had had the gun a while, and not brand new to you as the original post, and title of this thread indicated.

Just trying to get the complete story on the gun, not trying to bust your chops or anything.

I've been looking to fill that hole in my collection, and have not found much stuff that I like in that price range.

Shoot well Friend
I am shooting well and very straight, are you??

I'm still trying to figure out why who you bought it from matters to anyone but the OP.

Great looking rifle - have fun with it!

A great rifle, my EK cartouche not as clear as that, but my Remington 17 is in the same shape, it has 480 rounds I put thru it since I got it 30 years ago. I know it will always hit within 2" of where its pointed under any conditions foreever! I like 1917s better than 1903s .
