I have a Marlin 1894C in 357 and I was wondering if any body would know what it would take to do the following price wise?
Remove front sight and ramp, cut dovetail, install globe front sight.
Remove carbine forend and barrel clamp / install a rifle type foreend.
cut the mag tube to 1/2 length (5 + 1)
Put a thru bolt in the butt stock, whould this be a problem with a tang sight???

Would it be easier to get a barrel from Marlin with the rifle type foreend installed and how much would it cost?? Thinking 20" Octagon in 357.

You could probably do all these things, but why? The 94C is nice as it is.
If you really want to do some of these things, then here is my response.
If you want a globe front sight, just mount it on the Marlin dovetailed base, rather than remove the base and dovetail the barrel.
I don’t know if you can remove the forend and barrel clamp and replace them with a rifle forearm. May be easier to buy the 94 Cowboy in .357. It already has that forend.
Cutting mag tube to half length would involve another dovetail cut to the lower surface of the barrel. Do you really want to do this?
A bolt longitudinally through the stock would require a substantial modification of the action to take the bolt. Marlin uses a vertical bolt which seems to work fine. If you want a tang sight, that requires drilling and tapping the receiver tang. Not that big a deal.
If you want to put a tang rear and globe front, consider a 94 Cowboy. The longer barrel will help. The current ones are 20” while the older ones are 24”.
