1st Long Beard

    My Friends,I harvested my 1st long beard this morning at 10:00am
    Weighed 18#,9.5" beard and 1 inch spurrs.
    Man,what a feeling!!!!
    Turkey hunting is the greatest!!Well.... one of the greatest.

    Dave ,I used an al390 beretta.Load was 3in,6 shot Win mags.
    Wish I could send some pics but I am not smart enough to send attachments. :banghead:

    Congrats on a nice bird. I had a big tom (beard dragging) come within about 100yds Sat. He spotted my dekes and started struting back and forth, gobbling every third or fourth pass, but would not come in. He kept it up for about an hour before wandering off. I almost had a heart attack.

    Technically I got one to come in to TEN stinking yards on monday, but he went silent and circled in and came downhill behind me at TEN yards. Talk about a heart attack! I hear him sneak in, but there was no way to get a shot off. He's MINE saturday morning! :banghead:
