"Must be one hell of a back yard!"

Only 30 wooded acres myself… although I have most of the adjoining properties to wonder at will… almost a whole section (one square “country†mile) in all. I didn’t have to go far for either of those birds however.

The turkey my brother-in-law took came from a group of 12 tom gobblers… 2 toms actually came in side-by-side & my brother-in-law had to wait till they separated. He said he took the biggest one, but they looked like twins to me… I was actually closer to the birds.

There were over 50 turkey in that cut corn field & we could only tell what half of them were as the others were too far out… no telling how many good toms were out in that field total!

All these turkeys & Michigan only allows us 1 gobbler per spring. ;)

Taking a friend of mine out this weekend for the closer of the 1st private land hunt.

“I thought if you owned the land, you could kill whatever was on it.â€

Some things are like that here in Michigan HBK, but most aren’t, which goes for turkeys.

Thanks Ktulu! Are you a turkey hunter as well? If so, where about are you looking to kill one in MI?
