2 9/16" Chamber

Yeah, I'd be more pro-modification if I hadn't just ordered 250 quality 2 1/2" shells in about one minute off the Web, for less than I'd pay for 2 3/4" "field" shells at Wal-Mart.

Armed Bear, PM me that website. I'm always looking for a deal on 16ga ammo. I recently bought two flats of 250 rounds of Federal 1oz game load for $54.90 a flat at my local Wal-Mart but they were the last two.

You say the ejection port has already been machined. Maybe the chamber has been lengthened too. It seems odd to do one without the other. Have you had it measured? Forgive me if this has been addressed already, I haven't read all the posts.

chas08, the chamber doesn't appear to be modified. It's kinda tought to tell for sure if 3/16" of an inch has been removed or not. The port appears to have about a quarter inch milled out on the front. My thoughts are that older style 2 3/4" hulls that had the roll crimp and cardboard wad woud have ejected okay and the problem didn't appear until the star crimp hulls came on the scene.

The shotgun in question has had the front edge of the ejection port machined so that it would clear a 2 3/4" hull.
Well then, we can probably stop arguing about whether to lengthen the chamber.

If someone already modified the receiver, they surely had enough sense to also lengthen the chamber.

Sounds like it has probably already had the job done.

Just to be on the safe side, it wouldn't hurt to have a gunsmith check the chamber length.
