Hello prestigious gun community of THR, new user here.

So the other day I was field stripping my GSG for cleaning and after i had removed everything but the barrel I couldn't push it through the slide. So i removed the thread protector cap and pulled it out through the back, I then noticed that the edge which the recoil spring plug sits against in the slide had been peened outwards by the (steel?) recoil spring plug. So i took a file and removed the excessive material that had been pushed out and now I can get the barrel through it again and everything works like usual.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening to the GSG, I couldn't find anything on the internet about this specific problem?

Also my GSG has been spitting small amounts of burnt powder back at me, this started to happen some time before the issue with the stuck barrel. I cant see anything strange in the chamber or at the breech, but I don't really know what to look for. Next time I'm going shooting I will take a look at the cases to see if they have black markings around the mouth as that should be an indicator that something is off with the chamber.

All pointers of what to check on the gun to find why it is spitting powder are appreciated.
