This will be tough. If the AWB goes away, should people vote for republicans to reward them, or for Democrats to keep other horrific rights violations from going into effect?

The Dems seem to be more openly stupid, the Repubs seem to want to shot themselves in the foot.

This is not necessarily limnited to only those parties, or this country either.

WilderBill, you are correct. I am only pointing out the republicans have a history of and are particularly skilled at doing incredibly stupid things at precisely the wrong time. The effect of which is to hand the opposing political party a victory which it would not have achieved.

Campaign Finance Control is a classic example.

Judicial filibuster by Democrats and the republican's refusal to fight it publically is the most recent example.

As far as I'm concerned, the Republicans are the (slightly) lesser of two evils.

I like the idea someone came up with to make the Democrats scream.
The idea is for President Bush to make recess appointments to fill positions. Not make appointments of the ones he has nominated, but appointments of people the Democrats hate even more, such as Robert Bork and others the Democrats have demonized.
That should be good for a laugh to hear the Dems scream.
