2006 gun purchases

I have most of the 'modern' weapons that I want, and have made pretty good in-roads on the 20th century surplus military arms that I had on my list.

Now moving into the 19th century, with a nice Springfield Trapdoor high on the list. (Already got my ZULU Martini-Henry short lever, 1874 gun!) But, the further back in history I go, the harder it is to find nice ones, and the prices are beginning to get :what: .

Other than dealers, I wonder how many firearms were purchased by the respondents in 2005 (this year)? I bet the answer is two or less typically.

Hehe I know, its an uphill battle. My 06 christmas present to myself will be a .50 BMG rifle. Also, I forgot the FN five seven, .50ae desert eagle, and a fn shotgun :D Odds are I will have 1/3 of my wish list.. In the next 3 years I will be sure to have all of thoes and then some :D

It feels more like a life long quest. :(

I left out I may get a Bushmaster Carbon 15 Type 21S Pistol, maybe. :D
I'd love a Windrunner 50, but that ain't happening any time soon.

'ware the Yugos as they have gas problems. I did get one that worked but wish for a Norinco.

I disagree. There is nothing inherently wrong with a Yugo SKS's gas system. Yes, be careful in slecting one, as some used ones were used and abused in a little civil war back where they come from. Buy the "unissued" or "excellent" grades and and you'll have a fine SKS. Yugo (M59, not M59/66) is probably my favorite flavor SKS out of the three I own (Soviet, ChiCom,Yugo).

Well, I started early on my '06 purchases.

1) Gathering parts for an SBR semi-auto Sterling Mk6. Basically a Mk6 that looks like the Mk4 SMG. I've got most of the parts I need, now need to file that Form 1.

2) I got a parts kit for building a semi-auto MG42. Just seems like a fun project, and I've always been fascinated by belt feeding mechanisms, never had a chance to play with one.

3) We'll probably get a full size AR-15 for my wife sometime during the year.

Other than that, mags, mags, mags, ammo, ammo ammo, and some training along the way.

The good news is, I have to buy another gun safe. The bad news is I have to buy another gun safe.

My list tends to be full of handguns, that will squeeze into the current safe.

Actually, I haven't considered the 06 list; I still working on 05.:D poppy

I'd love one or more of the following (in no particular order)....

1- Bren Ten
2- Ed Brown Kobra Carry
3- H&K P7M8 (Jube)
4- H&K SR9TC
5- Sig 210
6- Walther P88

but since I like having groceries maybe....

1- Detonics Combat Master
2- H&K P2000SK (9mm)

and the time to shoot them!

S&W 8 times in .357 magnum, if finances permit. Main priority will be travelling to away IPSC comps and catching up with old friends while I try to get back onto the Australian team.

i don't need/will be purchasing anymore guns for the foreseeable future.
i will accessorize those that i have now..
i'm thinning my herd to finance the proposed "improvements"...:neener:

I have recieved the required wife permit to buy a NM AR-15 and all the goodies so that I may start shooting high power this summer. All of that right after she suprised me with a Shilen barrel for my 10/22. All I have to do it build her a new pc with all the bells and whistles. I think that is a good trade off .

Here is what I am thinking about:

1. 22 Handgun (Perhaps a Sig Mosquito or a Ruger MKII)

2. Remington 870P 12 gauge shotgun

3. Dan Wesson .45 Commander CBOB with internal extractor

4. AR15 (Undetermined manufacturer / Perhaps Bushmaster)
