springfield 1911-A1 .45

I spent about a gazillion dollers in 2005 so I will try to tone it down for 2006.

I am always looking for:

10mm's I don't have (not many left).
Old S&W's
Reasonable Grizzlys
High end 1911's
The wierd and unusual.

PS and maby a good long range cannon or two. 50 BMG and or 338

can't decide on the order, but it's pretty close

1. CMP M1 Garand
2. Rem700P
3. FN Tactical Police Shotty
4. Win94 44 mag Legacy
5. SpringfieldA M1A
6. Savage 10 in 308

That's probably all I could afford this year.
I'll list the other six around the same time next year....

The order changes frequently, and I'm sure I won't get them all this year, maybe 1 or 2.

- A safe
- Rem 870
- Ruger Mk III
- Glock 20
- SIG 229 (.357 SIG)
- FN Patrol (.308 Win)
- Glock 26

The list goes on for another 40 guns or so :what: , but those are the current top items.

Thanks to some recent end-of-year purchases, all I'm getting for sure next year is a .22 pistol to replace the one I sold to a buddy just getting into shooting, and an upper for an AR I'm building.

Otherwise, just lots and lots of ammo. :D

I'd LOVE to be able to find the similar thread from last year- my 2005 purchases were nowhere near what I thought they would be. Mostly with me, something just grabs my attention and the heck with any other purchasing plans.

Wow!! :what: That's over $10,000 new.

I'm going small....

GP100 3"
SP101 2"

....the rest of my money (if any) goes to advancing what I already have.

But who knows... best laid plans of mice and men. :D

Hehe I know, its an uphill battle. My 06 christmas present to myself will be a .50 BMG rifle. Also, I forgot the FN five seven, .50ae desert eagle, and a fn shotgun :D Odds are I will have 1/3 of my wish list.. In the next 3 years I will be sure to have all of thoes and then some :D

over the next couple years:

yugo sks one unissued and one shooter grade
SA milspec
gp100 4in
kel-tec p11

CMP garand, though as much as i want it i doubt it's gonna happen.

it'd be nice to get an AR but i have to be realistic, and that includes realizing it just wont happen

in the next year though-
7-08 barrel for the encore
maybe 1 of the sks's (assuming i get my C&R)

- Winchester 94 Trapper .30-30
- Ruger 10.5" SBH .44M
- Ruger 9.5" Single Six
- A nice single action revolver in .45LC, US Firearms/Uberti/Cimarron/etc
- CZ 527 7.62x29 bolt action carbine

Maybe others.

A Remington 870 or Ithica 12 guage.

A shorty upper for my Bushmaster

A carry piece for my CCW. (Probably a light weight snub revolver of some kind)

A Ruger Redhawk in 44 Magnum

I doubt I will get them all in 2006, but that is a list of my wants.

Well......

1. CMP Springfield Garand or 2 for me and a 1903 for Dad.

2. A Match Service Rifle AR-15.

After that I am set, after that I'd like to find another Colt 1911 if I can find a good deal (yeah, right).

2006

My first rifle and it should be a 30-06 for the hundred years of service. Not too picky, but a Garand would be EXCELLENT.

Since I'm poor, I'll put down what I want(and will be realistically be able to buy) next year. Currently all I have is a Walther P22 and a G17.

S&W Airlite revolver(.38 spl)

Springfield Operator in the Armory Kote finish.

Something H&K, either a USP 9 or USP 45 tactical.

A shotgun, something Remington 870ish.

A .17 HMR rifle(Marlin 917VS) with a nice scope setup so I can learn sighting in, rangefinding, etc...

That'll probably erase my extra funds next year, or the list would be bigger...

And maybe I need a backup for my Ruger 10/22

If thats your defense rifle you need to forget about a backup and replace it altogether. I have a 10/22 with 2 30rnd mags and a 4x scope, I know what they can and cannot do. This is all assuming your using it for defense since you mentioned 'backup'

If you really like the 10/22 then consider the M1 Carbine and/or the Mini-14. Both can be had in the most anti-gun places and hi-cap mags aren't too hard to come by if your a clever person.

You have to get the laser that goes on the P22 if you don't have it already. Its not like other lasers it doesn't get jarred around when you shoot so it stays accurate, its adjustable for windage and elevation. I have one and I really like it, it's super accurate.

I always have a list going. The theme for 2006 seems to be classic safari cartridges. These are the following rifles I would like to get.

-A rifle in .375 H&H. I have it narrowed down between the Winchester Model 70 Classic Stainless and the CZ 550 American Safari Magnum.

-A rifle in .416 Rigby. This is a wild card. I am considering the Ruger #1, the CZ 550, and a custom rifle built off of the 1917 Enfield action.

For handguns I would like a Ruger SP101 in .357 and something in 10mm.

in '06
To properly celebrate the 30 caliber 1906 AKA 30-06 I would like a 1903A3 Springfield.

My wish list continues
Ithaca Riot gun in USGI format
Win 1885 (Uberti Clone maybe) in 45/70
S&W 1917
S&W 1905 4th change 5" with round grip
S&W 10 3" mid weight barrel with round grip.

Dream list
Mini Mauser action with a short 18" mid weight barrel in some wildcat cartridge based on either a 222rem mag or a 7.62x39 with the caliber ranging from 6mm to 7mm, 25-222RemMag and 6.5 Grendel are leading the list in my mind.

A gun safe.

I have a S&W 638 on layaway that I won't pick up until probably late January. So that will be #1 for 2006.

Past that my current to-do list includes (in no particular order):

Getting my FEG Hi Power refinished (GunKote, DuraCoat, something like that). It's reliable and accurate (esp now that I had the trigger job done) but the previous owner didn't take care of it.

Pick up a KelTec P3AT. I fired one recently and even if I have to ship it back and forth to Kel-Tec a few times it would be worth it if I can get a reliable one in the end.

Buying a set of Crimson Trace lasergrips for the S&W 638.

Buy more mags for my P220 and the Hi Power.

I recently handled a Kel-Tec SU16C. I like it. I didn't care for the initial model but the newest release with the underfolding stock really appeals to me. It seems beefier and sturdier than the first SU16 model as well. I've already got an AR-15 so this would be a "just because" purchase.

I've had my eye on an XD-9 for a while now. With the recent noises about one in .45ACP I'll probably hold off on that for a while.

Will all of this happen in 2006? No way. But some of it will.

I am probably going to go light on the guns and heavy on accessories/ammo/training this year.

Guns

-.22LR revolver
-CZ 452 .22lr for my son, will be well broken in by Dad
-.357 rifle (maybe a Taurus Thunderbolt)
- either an M4gery, probably a Bushmaster, or an M1A Scout Squad Rifle
-Maybe a compact or sub-compact .45 of some flavor

Accessories

Holsters, speedloaders and speedloader pouches for my Ruger Gp-100 and 3" Model 13
Timer for IDPA practice
Tech-sights rear sight for my SKS, maybe a new stock too
Reloading supplies

Training

-At least one class(Defensive Pistol) with Tiger McKee at Shootrite Academy, may add a carbine class if I get the M4gery or the M1A

W

I might get a Tubb 2000 some day if my shooting ever improves. Other than that, I won't be buying any new firearms unless the SCAR or SIG 550 becomes available.

I'll play

I am planning on getting my two 1911s exactly how i want them, a full set of leather from Rafter S, mucho ammo, and training. I try to keep a little money set aside in case I find good deals, which doesn't often happen.

I plan on going to Shootrite next year too. Looks like a good school and its not far from the house.
