Shooting is my sport so I've got a list of things to get done in 2007.
1. More money and time to TSRA, NRA, and other organizations. (They are going to get us, but it's fun to make a fight of it. Do the TSRA calendar photos again.)
2. Recruit a new Highpower shooter. (lost my Junior to the Army and the AMU. Big hole in my bullseye and Infantry Trophy Team, but it's not going to fill itself. Got one new shooter I am carrying now. Might as well make it two.)
3. Shoot doe tags with three more military surplus rifles. (this has to be done by the end of Feb when the tag season closes. 20+ tags to go. The Garand and the Argentine 1909 have drawn blood, but K31, 1903A3, K98, P17, M1 Carbine, 1891 Arg Carbine, Swede M38, and Chilean 1895 Carbine left to go. Going to have to pick.)
4. Kill a hog big enough to eat me by stalking in the Kickapoo Creek bottom at Clarksville. (I think I can walk up the herd with a Garand in the cane flats. Just have to be careful.)
5. Take at least three people up to shoot doe tags. (full day guide service, on my gas and dime, but I think it's worth doing to encourage hunters and get friends doe herd managed.)
6. Be competitive in NRA service rifle: (Place in Regional Matches. Medal in LEG matches. Make the TSRA shooting team at the Nationals for Bullseye and Infantry Trophy. Presidents 100 medal at Perry. Have a score in the top 100 CMP EIC listings. Place in the TSRA Highpower Rifle and Service Rifle matches. Do all I can to serve the TSRA NM team.)
7. Keep Team Blackfork Competitive on team days and win bullseye or Infantry Trophy or both with team at the various regionals.
8. Win the Louisiana Service Rifle Championship. (Won it twice but last year I was lucky, not good.)
9. Shoot three bullseye pistol matches. (Not going to get double distinguished by standing around.)
10. Add another gun safe in another location. (split the armory for safety.)
11. Run the gamecams all year, then shoot a buck larger than the one on the wall, or pass completely. (This year I got excited and shot a buck I should have left for 2007. He's nice, but would have been bigger if I hadn't gotten my blood up.)
12. Still be alive on Jan 1, 2008. (eat right, exercise, buckle up. See the doctor)
