Possibly. I think the salt and pepper laminate stocks (think Gunsite scout) are pretty snazzy. While the "Green Mountain Laminate" stocks on the Guide Gun are not quite as snazzy, they aren't too bad, and I don't think I would be very bummed if one got a dent or scratch in the course of a hunting expedition.
 
Not really a big fan of either the laminate stocks or the muzzle brakes. The worst offender is the Guide rifle with that Green Mountain Laminate and the muzzle brake; together they actually could make a mud fence look nice. And I really don't like the muzzle brakes on the African models; as if someone at Ruger thought a shotgun choke tube would look good mounted on the end of a rifle. They just don't go with the more traditional appearance of walnut stocks and blued steel. The only one that looks "right" in that line-up is the .223 model that, of course, doesn't have one.
