I can't speak for the Python, but the King Cobra I just purchased has a fantastic DA/SA trigger. In my research before I purchased it, I seen that there were some issues and complaints earily on. One of which was that the ejector rod would stick. When I compared the design of the one I purchased with the design of the ones depicted in the YouTube videos from about a year ago, mine is different. They must have already addressed the issue. Matter of fact I remember seeing someone post that Colt told them that they already had a new design in one of the older post I read. Are you sure? There are tons of bad reviews like this to be found: https://www.northwestfirearms.com/threads/2020-colt-python-failure.330612/
I handled one when they first came out and it had a nice SA pull, apparently due to the light strike issues Colt changed the action so that the later one I handled had a bad SA trigger pull. I'm a Colt guy but among your two choices I'd go with an older S&W.
I'm bring that up just to say there's a good chance that any earily reviews of issues could have been addressed already, so the complaints are no longer valid (if they were even valid in the first place).
