I had been thinking that I was going to have tag soup, but last night this guy decided to give me an opportunity at about 140 yds.
CVA Optima V2 .50, 300 gr. Scorpion PT golds over 110 gr. By volume of Blackhorn 209.
Better late than never!
Nice. Just proves that it isn't over until the muzzleloader sings. Never give up.

Nothing special, my doe from this year. CVA Cascade .350 Legend

i disagree!
I think that any animal we harvest is a gift.
We may work very hard to get a deer for example, but having to opportunity to take an animal is a gift from the creator and we should be thankful.
Just because it doesn’t have horns (which you can’t eat) doesn’t mean that it’s not special!
Very nice Deer!

Congrats on the kill. Anything taken ethically, and that isn’t wasted is a good one.

Side note…. How do you like the CVA Cascade?

Very impressed with it. Accuracy is good, no recoil to speak of, carries and handles well for me and has no problem putting a deer down. It has moved into my primary deer rifle position for Ohio. I still love my 45/70 Marlin lever gun, and 450 Bushmaster AR pattern, but really like the CVA.

I want to say that I’m so proud of my daughter.

She patiently waited this year on a buck that was within her range to shoot. She took a little 6 point with a 243 Win at about 50 yards. Clean hit, dead within a couple steps.

Her first kill. Proud dad moment.

Dang, late to the party as always. This was a problem bear, getting into people's camps up on one of the mountains where I hunt. It was quartering away from me when I shot, and I gut shot it. Went down, but got back up and ran across a stream and into the heavy brush. Had to go in after it. !!!! But I found it not too far away and finished it off. Best bear meat I've ever tasted, and got a bunch of really nice clean pure bear grease/oil out of it. Don't want to do that again but when it happens there is no choice...just got to do it. !!!!

End of the season is nearing so time for one more buck. Antlers are long gone but I'd reckon he'd be a big eight. Excellent body mass, pegged a 220lb scale right away so no exact figures but I'm a happy camper. Freezer will be nicely stocked once this fellow hangs for a few days and is ready for butchering. :)

Brown bear? What gun/caliber?

My only big game harvest of 2021
My first velvet rack
Displaced the blood with alcohol and then dried in borax for a week then vacuumed the dust off
Shot with 308 win Remington Mohawk and 165 nosler partitions at ~175 yards 90% facing me. One shot kill. Special because it was the first time my dad was with me when I got a deer. It was actually the first buck he has help harvest.

My wife’s aunt, all decked out in flaming red got her bull moose. 65 yards with my 454 Casull
Here she is with the bull and a pic of the one recovered bullet. Barnes 260grain.
And one pic with the bull being processed at our trapping cabin.
Proud of her. Open sites
