I am getting ready to start loading for my .204 Ruger Rifles. I have not loaded for this caliber yet but just wanted to see what loads others have had good luck with. The Rifles I will be shooting them in are a H&R single shot 1-12" twist and a Remington 700 1-12" twist. The componets I have on hand to use are 32gr Hornady V-Max, and 40gr Hornady V-Max bullets, CCI small rifle primers, and these powders: Hodgdon CFE223, BLC(2), Varget, Alliant RL15, Win 748, IMR 4064. If you got any good recipes or experience with the .204 please share your thoughts. Thanks

My current 204 Ruger load is 40 grain V-max with CFE223. CFE223 also worked with Sierra's 39 grain Blitzking.

I load 32 grain bullets with AA2230.

Just follow the published data from Hodgdon and Western Powders.

They work great in both my bolt and AR-15 rifles.

My best and most loaded powder for the .204 is BL-C(2), although I haven't really found a bad powder from the several I have tried. Right up near the top of the data is where it seems to do best for me; 40gr VMax and 29.5gr of BL-C(2) with a CCI 450 primer is my go-to load and it averages about 0.5 MOA from my Savage M12 (1 in 12").
