i know its been discussed but i'd like to bounce my thought process off people who have already done this.
i am looking at vortex hs-t 4x16, it has 75moa of adjustments. its going on an AR10, 18" barrel, realistically 800yd setup, 1000yd is pushing my hopes and dreams. doing a little math i looks like i will run out of adjustment around 800yds (30moa)-900 yds(40moa) depending on where the "zero" is, so i am leaning towards a 20moa cantilever scope mount.
how far off of of the middle do scope typically run? i have mounted a few in my life but never paid any attention, as long as they were minute of deer accurate i am usually happy.
with a scope with 75moa of adjustments (32.5 up. 32.5 down) i don't think a 20moa mount would be a problem. . . am i thinking along the correct path?
also, is there a good mount with the slope that isn't $150+?
thanks
