I went to the Reno Gun Show yesterday. I did see some pretty interesting guns. One was at the Olympic Arms booth.

They had an AR 15 on display chambered in 22-250 Remington. It was a standard 15 with the magazine area modified to accept a larger magazine. I asked the price and was told it would not be sold until the last day of the show.

Wow! Talk about an interesting varmint rig!

They also have AR 15's chambered for a new round, the 300 OSSM. That stands for Olympic Super Short Magnum. They claim it will shoot 150 grain bullets at 3000 feet per second utlizing a standard AR 15 set up. They have ammo and reloading dies available for this round.

I also saw one of those AR uppers that allow you to shoot 50 BMG. One question about this. Can an AR frame withstand shooting this caliber? It would be a cheaper alternative then buying dedicated guns for the 50BMG. But if it destroys the gun, then it wouldn't be much of a bargain.

great idea and should be fun to shoot, I love the .22-250 and I love ARs, mainly AR10s. but when the SHTF, and it might sooner that we think, the only sensible ARs will be the common calibers like 5.56 and .308.
