.22 Girlfriend Concealed Carry Conundrum

No person with knowledge of firearms and SD is going to recommend a .22 for an able bodied person to CCW. Those of us that have handled and fired 100's of different handguns in different calibers KNOW that the 22 is not a good choice for SD.
With that said I still think that if a person wants a 22 then get them a 22. I have NEVER had a woman that started with a 22 STAY with a 22. After several trips to the range and getting an idea of how guns operate they ALL eventually move up to a larger caliber. What most women find is that the 22 semi is generally pretty bulky compared to other calibers. A Buckmark is the size of a full size 9mm (or close to it) and many ladies carry in their purses.
Shoot a 22 pistol at the range for a couple of trips and then let her decide to move up. I guarantee she will!

Anyone who calls another person a fool for doing something that THEY don't do is calling the kettle black. These are the same people that ridicule others for buying anything but a certain brand (read Glock) or for buying a Hi Point. I have been carrying a pistol since the 70s and in almost 40 years of carrying a pistol in some pretty rough areas I would have been just as well served with a pocket 22 as with a full size 1911 because I have never had to pull my gun. If I ever DO need it then it will NOT be a 22 (nor a 1911 for that matter).
