I am going to get a NAA mini mostly just for fun, however it might find some carry time. Is there going to be a big enough energy difference between the .22 long rifle and the .22 mag. I would prefer the .22 LR for cost, noise, and shootablility. Just give me some thoughts.

The .22LR is barely "shootable". I like mine, but if you want one for shooting, I think the .22 WMR version, just a bit bigger all around, might offer a better experience.:)

The Mini Mag version is in fact a little bit bigger, and with the extended wood boot grip on it (you can find it on the NAA website), it's actually pretty shootable. It's still small enough to almost completely hide in a closed fist, and slips in and out of a pocket just as easily as the .22LR version. Get the Mini Mag with both cylinders, and you have the best of all worlds.

I recently took out my newly purchased .22 Mag version. At 15' I put 5 shots fairly close together into 2 phonebooks. The backside of the second phone book was shredded. My guess is that this will be an adequate CCW. I don't want to participate in a debate regarding this statement. I live in AZ, and when it's 100+ degF you have few options to carry in your Nike shorts........ I'd rather be armed with something than caught with nothing in a desperate situation.

They will sell you one with both cylinders.
Why fight it?
Agreed, but it is a bit bigger in mag form, as posted. I have about 5 types of .22 Mag on hand. I need to run it all through my NAA .22 Mag and get some velocities. I have done it in a 6" Colt, but not the NAA yet.

+1 that... the ability to have both available to you... that's the way to go.
