In the discussion of the Bearcat I mentioned the Uberti Stallion but did not show it in my post. So to make up for that oversight, here it is posed with my Rugers:

Its a dandy little gun, and just seems more petite compared to the Single Six, largely because of its smaller grip, which is closer akin to the Colt. And, accurate enough even with the more crude sights:

Has anyone done an experimentation with some of the subsonic loading available for “back yard”. Not all back yards are equal unfortunately. @ontarget I am a bit jealous.

My wife chose this property 26 years ago, so I have her to thank. I can shoot out to 125 yards from my back deck in the winter, about 100 in the summer when the woods get thick. The thing is, even though I can walk outside and shoot any time I want to, sometimes I go weeks without firing a shot. We are only 5 miles from the nearest town so it's not too far out of civilization.
As to sub sonics, I have never tried them.
For our range challenged brethren, there are some good quality air guns available these days that can be used covertly, where a powder burner would be a problem.

My favorite SA 22 is a stainless Single-Ten picked up used. I shoot it better than the Single-Sixes for some reason, maybe the Hi-Viz style sights. It's what I reach for when I want a little more accuracy with my plinking. A lot of fun shooting for not much money.

I also have a Single-Ten, but which I bought new. What an amazing machine. I have never had a Ruger which failed me, and that one is no exception. Been shooting for more than 67 years.

".22 Rimfire revolvers" .... ah, yes, I can't resist the title of this thread to post a pic of:

the Rohm RG14S, as used by John Hinkley Jr to fire six shots at President Reagan, very nearly killing the President and two other people.

Don't ever let anyone kid you that the .22LR isn't a lethal round.

(please excuse the insurance inventory picture, not posed for best photogenic advantage)

I like .22 revolvers alright, but my experience with the J frame S&W was underwhelming. I had a 4" model 63 old school gun, and the trigger was so-so at best. I preferred the Charter Arms 3" Pathfinder I had at the time to it, and now the Ruger LCR rules.

Yessir! Out of the variety I’ve tried of LR, Shorts, primer only Colibri, my favorite out of all barrel length rimfire revolvers is the well known CCI Quiet.

My modest .22 revolver collection consists of a Ruger Single Six and a S&W Model 34 (which I gave to my wife). Thought about getting a used S&W Model 17 but that's about as far as I went with that notion.

This new Colt King Cobra Target .22 certainly has got my attention!

I have a Rossi 511. Picked up many years ago for a steal. All Stainless, 4” Adjustable sights J frame size. Great shooter. It prefers to be clean, chambers are tight and will get sticky after a good bit of shooting. Sometimes a .22 is just what the doctor ordered.

I also have a range on my property in eastern Oregon. I have no neighbors so I can safely enjoy any of my firearms. The one I exercise the most is this OM Ruger SS manufactured early 70’s. Bought it at a Pawn Shop in Wallace ID. I dickered down a bit because it had two 22LR cylinders but no 22Mag. I located one that dropped in perfectly. I don’t shoot the mags to often just because of the expense. It loves CCi Mini mags. I had it reblued and the grip frame along with ejector rod polished recently.Wishing you all a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. 488DC6BD-D01A-45AD-914D-0B5695D06AA7.jpeg

I have always had this attraction to .22 revolvers like little kids to lost puppies. Over the years, there have been few that I have had the strength to leave behind. My collecting days focused on SW mostly but I've owned 22 revolvers from Colt, H&R, Charter Arms, Taurus, Dan Wesson and a few off brand junks. Much of my collection has been sold off and I do have more self control these days but still keep a few favorite "strays" that followed me home and refuse to leave. :)
