Growing up I learned to shoot and hunt from my Grandfather and my uncle. My uncle would tell a story of the time he took a deer with his 220 swift. He shot it in the eye and it did a complete flip. Now the story was told on occasions when the family got together and it kinda had a legendary status as did the rifle. Well my uncle passed away last Feb after a battle with cancer. He left me his swift. It was built sometime in the early 60's. It is a German k98 mauser action with a custom bull barrel, custom match trigger topped with a weaver k10. I can't wait to get it out to the range. On the back of the ammo boxes is load data he worked up for in in 1969. Just thought I would share.

I'm sorry for your uncle's passing but that rifle is a treasure.

The .220 Swift is really amazing even after so many years.

I have a friend who shot an antelope at 500 yards with a Swift. It's an interesting story.

I would keep that rifle forever.
