I am in search of a set of dies for a 220 Weatherby Rocket. I have a coworker who has had a rifle which was his uncles and was hidden away in a wall for 40yrs. Very sentimental to him and he approached me about reloading for it. Barrel and throat is in good shape and ready to shoot. I have five rounds of ammo which was loaded many years ago.
I would really like to make this guys day and make this rifle operational for him to connect back with his hunting memories with his uncle and this 220 rocket.

Any help or leads where I could get a set of dies without having to custom order a set.

Thanks

.220 Weatherby Rocket

Don't know where to get dies, but it looks like if you can get them, you can make all the cases you want out of 220 Swift brass. From looking at the cartridge, it looks like you should be able to get some impressive muzzle velocity. Nothing on ebay at the moment.

Thanks for the replies so far. I will call and see what I can find. Meanwhile if you know of any one who may have any leads on a used set I am interested. I would like to get it up and running before year end as a surprise for the guy.
Thanks

The good news is that your bud can shoot factory .220 Swift ammo in his rifle until he gets the dies. This will give him a stock of fireformed brass. The Rocket is very user friendly.
Velocity loss while fireforming is minimal with no loss in accuracy. The greatest advantage the Rocket has over the Swift is that the brass does not stretch. Velocity gain is a bonus.
I load mine @ 4000 FPS with Sierra 52gr HPBT Match over H380.
I had my Ruger 77V rechambered by Huntington's in 1979. The cost was $158 including an RCBS 3 die set.
Oh for the good old days.
