I have an early Rem 700 BDL in 222 Rem, and was thinking of loading some 50 grn Vmaxs for it. Could anyone share their heavily guarded accuracy loads with me? I swear I won't tell a soul!
I have used 4227, 4759, 3031, and 4198. They all work. Lately I have been using 19.6 gr of 4198 with a 55 gr bullet. Velocity should be around 2900. I have no way of measuring it. Accuracy is good. What a great caliber. I have sure enjoyed my 222 Rem.
The rifle has a 24" barrel with 1:14 twist. I have 200 Rem nickle cases and many more Win cases, for primers I have most small rifle reg and BR primers on hand, and pounds of IMR4198, IMRXBR8208, H322, RL15, Varget, CFE223, H4895, Imr4064, Imr3031, and IMR4227. I bought a bunch of 50grn bullets because I know with the slower twist rifling I don't want to go too heavy. Thanks so far guys!
