MY Cabela's brick showed up yesterday. never shot any 22 blazer, is it any good?

Yes it is. I've shot a fair amount of it.

Supposedly its = to CCI MiniMag but not copper plated. I don't know that to be fact but the performance #'s of both would support that statement.

BBT delivered 500 round brick of Blazers on time.First brick in about 6 months.I'm a happy old man.

I've been selling a few bricks out of my stash here and there, usually by first overhearing the conversation and trying to decide if they're on the "up and up".
If I think they're a shooter and not a flipper, I might sell them some.

BTW - guys at the shop tell me some of the flippers at flea markets / gun shows are putting 50 rds. in a bag and selling them for $12 / bag.

If they bought Federal 550s @ Walmart for $23.97 and bagged them so, they would be making over $100 / box.

'Course, when some of the Walmart regulars (i.e. flippers) showed up the other morning, I saw one of them read the posted notice on the Winchester M*22 ammo recall, and remarked "all mine are mixed up - I don't know if I got any with double-charges or not".

I guess some of those folks that buy his 50-rd. baggies will find out... :uhoh:

i got one brick of the Blazer today. two more bricks are on their way, but they got held up in Greensboro, NC due to weather.

i ordered a brick, my wife ordered a brick, and then i ordered another one just to see if it would get canceled and it went through. my mom ordered a box for herself and a box for me. my mother in law ordered a box for me and my father in law ordered a box for himself.

i should be good to go for a little while.

Still have them in stock....Everybody must be sleepin'. I'm pretty well set for 22, so I've decided that the only ammo I'm going to buy is the brands I normally shoot. At least for the time being.

Every time someone on gun forums hear or see 22lr in a store, the first thing they do is run and post it on a forum. Thinking this may help the 22lr needy...it also helps out the scalper or hoarders as it tells them exactly where to go and if there are any they buy them up . Just quit listing and posting anything about it and let it build back up. Just my 2 cent.

I agree jaxondog, the 22 ammo availability problem is caused by people buying everything they can when they can. if people just did what we all did 5 years ago there would be 22 ammo everywhere. It's just 22lr ammo, why people feel they need to buy everything on the shelf is beyond me. And for gods sake why are people paying these super inflated prices I see at the gun shows.

Trust me, I have a close friend that is in marketing for a very large ammo company, and hoarding is not the only reason it's in short supply.

At this writing Cabela's has The Swamp People 22 LR. (CCI MINI MAG) at 24.99 for a 300 round box.

It's kind of you to share this but a dime per round (after shipping cost) is a bit much for me. I'd jump on it if they were 500 rd bricks and pass the good fortune to my buddies. If I was desperate for .22LR I'd jump on that deal too though.

Cabela's cancelled four orders but allowed the other four and they're already shipped. One or two might arrive here today and probably two more Monday. That's a total of 2K rounds. One buddy wants all of it. I really wanted to create a little good karma with a local mechanic so I'd rather split the orders between the two. However, without thinking I already agreed to let the first guy have it all. Oh well...:)

ole farmerbuck... RE your post below: I'm not giving these away but selling them at cost... just under $33/brick delivered. In the past I have given some ammo away on birthdays and as thank-you gifts for folks working on my property but times are far too lean these days to do much of that.;)

I agree to a point. I look at it this way. The Swamp People stuff is CCI Mini Mags which normally retail out at about $10 a box of 100 rounds so the $30 tag for 300 rounds is not very high at all.

A big part of the problems with 22 LR ammunition is people fail to mention what the ammunition actually is. It's like saying I paid $35 a brick for 22 LR. Well if you paid $35 for a 500 round brick of Winchester Super X you did very good, if you paid $35 a brick for Remington Thunderbolts you severely overpaid. So what was it?

I won't even get into 22 LR like the Eley stuff which you should expect to pay for.

Missed out on this dirty Remington stuff but I just got a brick of Blazers delivered yesterday. My wife got a brick of Blazers too. If she decides not to shoot them, I suppose I can help her out...

I didn't know this ammo "normally" sells for 10 cents/rd. If that's true then it's an excellent deal in today's market.

The flippers are well aware of the best way to purchase 22 ammo these days. While I partially agree with your statement, I'd hate to think that I stopped trying to help others because of a few bad examples. YMMV

I click on and skip 9/10 email alerts I get. I bite at 5-6c/per so shipped it is 6-7c per which isn't too bad for clicking buttons and having it arrive at my doorstep. If I'm successful 1-2 times per month, I'll have a decent amount on hand pretty soon for not too much $ and no real effort (no wasted time and fuel).
