Look into the Beretta M-9-22. Great shooter and 2 15 round mags as well as a reasonable price.

I have a couple Buckmarks and a SR22. The Buckmarks are by far the higher quality, more accurate, have a wonderfull trigger and are heirloom worthy. The SR22 is fun. Target match worthy or fun... which do you want?
I'm in total agreement!

Well after all the good feedback from my SR22 post I went to the LGS to pick one up today and they had many new 22lr in the same $340 to $375 price range and with my additive firearm issue I like them all so possibly you all can help me out on some more opinions I am listing a poll of the ones that want to come home with me

Have you looked at the Beretta Neos? I'll start off by saying I like the Buckmark and the Mark Ii/II and S&W better than the Neos if not for performance reasons but at a bare minimum aesthetics. But.... I did pick up a Neos because of the $250 price at Academy sports just to give it a try. I actually went there with the intention of getting the SW22 but left with the Neos instead. I never tried one because of the looks and I thought the extreme grip angle would be awkward. Turns out it points natually in my hand and fits really well. I did not like the way the S&W stock grips felt. I could get the Neos and since it comes with a rail from the factory a Holosun made Red dot for it for less than the price of the other 3. The trigger is not great. Tearing down a bic lighter to replace the sear spring and a little polishing gets the trigger to the ~4lbs range. It's eaten every type of crap ammo I've fed it so far. 20 year old Thunderbolts. Aguilla subsonic. Golden bullets. Winchester white box. Federal is various flavors. It has been a great shooter and is quite accurate. I still like the buckmark and MKii/iii a little better. But it's for reasons other than performance.

I own and have had extensive time with the Sr22, Buckmark, and Victory......have shot the MK......by far the Victory is the best out of that group for the money. Victory can be had for $325 (check on slickguns.com) with the threaded barrel. The new Mark4 may be better than the Victory, but I've only handled one, not shot it.

I have a lot of shooting time with a Ruger MKIII 22/45, a Beretta Neos 4.5" barrel, and a Bersa Thunder .22LR. I shoot the Ruger the most accurately out of those three.

However, I want to trade my Neos for S&W Victory or Browning Buckmark. Although the Victory gives more features for the money for a similarly priced Buckmark, I'm leaning to the Buckmark.

JO JO

I have three favorite .22s: a Beretta Model 70S, a SIG Trailside, and a Ruger Mk. II. Most accurate and best suited for target work at the range would be the Ruger, followed by the SIG (scary light trigger pull with that one). Most versatile would go to the Beretta; the semi-auto version of the S&W Kit Gun. Small and light to take it anywhere, extremely reliable with any ammo, and more than accurate for plinking or as a backwoods hunting companion. The SIG falls somewhere in between these two.

If I were looking new nowadays I would consider the Ruger Mk. IV., some version of the Browning Buckmark, and the S&W Victory, provided I can trick it out somewhat with some Volquartsen additions.

I voted for the Ruger since it was the only item I've had experience with.
