Does anyone have experience with the 22lr M-1 Carbine clones such as the Citadel?

I saw a couple at the local guns show this weekend and they look interesting.

Thanks in advance.

I just sold one to a customer a couple weeks ago. He tells me he's fired about a brick of .22 through it, and is very happy.

Yep. I own one. I bought a VERY early release, which had the highly discussed on the internet feed ramp issue. If you're not familiar, the feed ramp was cut too deep, allowing case bulge and rupture.

I returned the rifle to Citadel / Legacy, had a replacement in my hands in a week with the issue resolved. No complaints from me on their customer service.

Issues I've found:

1. The front sight was too tall, I trimmed it slightly.
2. The rear sight needs to be offset to the left to get the POI on center.

That's it. It looks the stuff, and is a dead ringer for my '43 National Postal Meter. I added a reproduction sling and oiler, and might put a stock mag pouch on it sometime.

Great fun to shoot. Accuracy isn't up to target rifle standards, but fine for plinking once you find the ammo it likes. (mine likes Federal Auto Match)

Hope this helps!

I have one I got at Academy and enjoy it. Mine has the synthetic stock ... I'd have prefered the wood one but they didn't have that and the one they got to replace the one I purchased also had the synthetic stock. Aparently Academy takes whatever their HQ sends.
Still, it is a nice weapon to which I added a repro carbine sling with oiler.
When .22LR comes back into stock I anticipate it will be more convenient and cheaper to shoot my M1-22 than the real Inland M-1 carbine I have.

What is, if any, it's advantage over the Ruger 10/22 with aftermarket M-1 style carbine stock and sights?

The Ruger 10/22 M-1 conversion looks passable enough with it's time proven reliable action and magazine availability.

While the 10/22 is a great rifle, it just does not look enough like an M1 Carbine.

The Citadel is pretty much a dead ringer to a 30 Carbine.

Here, for me, close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.:)

Thanks everyone for the comments. I will have to add the Citadel carbine to the list.
