i stopped by Walmart to see for myself and sure did , they have several boxes . I got one just to satisfy the need. It comes out to $8.19 out the door . Tomorrow i m dropping Academy for the cheaper brand Champion .

One of my Walmarts had 20 boxes of the CCI SV from the Saturday morning special at 6:30 PM this evening (Monday the 6th)

I saw this CCI ammo at my local WM last week. First time I have seen .22 there in months. Associate gave me my 3 box limit but when it came time to check out it said "not available for sale". Store manager said it was state rule!! When I scanned the box using the WM app on my phone it identified it as Black Friday inventory not for sale before. So, no luck for me this time.

The WM stores here did not have the hunting special sale that other's around the country had.

I forgot to add...that CCI I got three boxes of tonight...that's only the second time I've purchased .22lr at Walmart since 2012 (because that's only the second time I've seen it, I am unwilling to go in the morning and stalk the trucks or anything)

Was any of the WM 22lr sold last saturday bricks? Or anything more then 100pks like 225s, 325s?

I didn't see anything other than the cci sv 100 packs heck even cabelas had some cci (ordered my one box limit of solid mini mags but don't know if they will be able to fill my order)

Some people may have happened across other .22lr that happened to arrive or become available for purchase this weekend, but I'm fairly certain the promotional event was for the 100 round boxes of CCI Standard Velocity only, and that is just about the only thing people are saying they got at Walmart this weekend (.22lr)

Wow bulk packs available for more than 15 minutes, 22 on the shelves of Wal-Mart for multiple days, did all the old cogers buying up every shipment have a meeting down at the moose head men's club (or any other club involving small cars and funny hats) and decided there all tired of it? Or did they finally collect enough 22lr to fulfil what ever nefarious plan they have concocted?

That is one thing I despise about WalMart ... when they don't know they just make <removed by moderator> up.

I had heard a rumor that WalMart was hording 22lr for "Black Friday"... guess this confirms it. Guess who they -won't- be selling any to that day ....

I too have seen the CCI 22 LR on the Walmart shelves here in Raleigh, NC - but it may be simply the price finally, that is slowing people down.

I have been able to get Remington 22 LR at $.05/round on a more regular basis around Raleigh (acquired over 2,000 rounds) and the CCI is running $.075/round and at some places it's $.08/round.

Was able to get a 500 round brick of Remington Thunderbolt for $24.95... not to bad.

I went back past the same WM today and there was no stock of the CCIs.
I think that although it scanned as Black Friday stock it was in fact reserved for this past weekend special.
I dont know what's going on with them. They are either scaling down their stock holding of .22 or ammo in general or building up .22 for a huge Black Friday event to attract male shoppers. In the mean time my LGS get .22 in each week around the .07c per round which is not too bad.

Looking at gunbot there is a lot of .22 in stock at many dealers, granted the price is a little high but as equilibrium is reached these will too start coming down.

Don't buy into it, and don't buy it !

It's going to be tough not buying into it sooner or later. I have just bought my first .22 and althoug the LGS do say they get .22 in they can't guaranty they'll have any for me when I collect my rifle.

I envy all you folks who have managed to collect all that 5c and under ammo.

Hopefully I'll have something to feed my Henry the day I pick it up.

The Keefe Report said:
When demand exceeds supply, feeding more product into distribution is the obvious answer. It’s just good business. But what if you can’t? That’s where we are with .22 Long Rifle.
We have been resoundingly criticized for reporting manufacturers all say they are running full out in .22 Long Rifle production (some of the kinder messages had more explatives than a Quentin Tarantino movie). The ammo makers are not making that up. It is not a conspiracy. I have been in two of the major rimfire plants in the United States since this “crisis” hit, and they are, indeed, running three shifts, full out. But there are not that many rimfire plants in the United States. There are foreign makers, too, with Mexico’s Aquila, Italy’s Fiocchi and Sweden’s Norma in particular stepping up to meet demand. Also making .22 LR are England’s Eley, Germany’s RWS and SK and Armscorp in the Philippines.

Good catch. However the wood box stuff is nearly 9c a round before shipping. The 333 box is uner 6c a round and lands at 7c per round. Shipping both brings the overall cost to nearly 10c per round. It's like auction fever!

One box of 333 should be fine in anticipation of owning my first .22. At least I know I will be able to use it the day I get it. I can then relax and start supporting local once they come to the party with prices.

What's up with .22 LR?

I went to Wal-Mart recently and checked out the gun section. To my surprise, .22 is still completely empty. Everything else has been stocked for a while, but for some reason, .22 hasn't come back.

Why is this? I get the feeling that the panic over .22 is like a feedback loop. Yet no other caliber has been like this.

Remember, this started almost two years ago. It's hard to believe how time flies. I remember people here saying that it would be over by the last summer at the latest.

Are we living through one of those unique events in history?

Less profit in producing 22 LR than in any other caliber. So those that say they are full tilt on producing 22 LR are just lying to you.
