Rusty, I'm hoping for a group effort, really I am. :uhoh: I have been loading for a select group that I shoot with for a while and have had not one problem so far. My roommate and I recently qualified for our armed security license and carry permits with my loads, and everything went like it was supposed to. I look at everyround, every step of the way and have a speed that I will not break. Those that use my equipment will load my way or not load on my equipment.

I have loaded for a few NFA toys as well with no worries. I do understand the possible problems of loading for others, and even allowing them to use my equipment supervised. I do not load hot in any caliber, and will not do it for others either. Last year I fired 10k of my loads in pistols and another 5k in rifles. The group of 3-5 I usually shoot with counted for another 6k last year. I trust my loads as do those that shoot with me.

Bullseye I wasn't questioning your ability, I'm sure you do a great job reloading. I am 100% confident in my reloads also, I also look at every charge and have never had a problem with a reload except for one squib the first week I started reloading, the reason I look at every charge. If you want to reload for others that your choice, I'm just not willing to take the chance. If somebody wants to come over and load on my machine that's a different story.

Up untill me and the wife found out we were going to have a kid (Early 2003), Me and my wife would go through that in about 3 months. Man, I miss those times.

I know that, I was just trying to fend off the :what:OMG he reloads for others :what: comments that are coming. I do realise what is at stake and have no worries, nor do those that shoot my loads. At the present time, I am not working and have lots of time to load ammo, so I was the right choice for this undertaking. I do expect some help though, I'm not sure I can do it myself in a month. If it works out, then we move on to 45, and 223. :what: God help me. :D

Just an after thought... Maybe I don't miss those days that much after all.

Just make sure the load is correct and you stop production ever so often to check the process. Nothing like loading 25k and finding out you can't use them because of a foulup.

I don't load that much, about half that a year though. I use range brass, free. I also highly recommend MT Gold bullets. I bought XX,000 rounds just after the election, for the winter reloading season. Do the best you can at gunshows for primers. I have been using 4.8 grains of American Select (case full) with a 115 MTG JHP. With recycled brass, I'm running under $.10 each. That's under half what you can find commercially. I load on a 550 at 300-400 rounds an hour.

Not much savings since you're looking for once fired brass.....I'd think you could buy those quantities already loaded cheaper than doing it yourself.

I cant figure out why people think that this is so excessive.... 100 rounds a week for 5 years, or 200 rounds a week for 2.5 years. It sounds to me like someone trying to insulate themselves from political noise. What would I consider excessive? More than 75000 rounds PER GUN OWNED might be excessive. That is more than 15 years worth of shooting.

If you could have stocked up on 25000 rounds of 7.62x39 FOUR YEARS AGO at $60 per 1000, would that... in retrospect... have been excessive? Absolutely not! In fact, it would have been a brilliant buy.

I just want to see pics of lots and lots of ammo...

Plus I am envious.

Yeah, what Afy said, I want to see the stack of ammo after you are done. It will be a beautiful masterpiece:neener:

Afterthought: buying over 8 cases of bullets from MT Gold may be a tiny bit cheaper than what I paid, but only marginally.

25 lbs of powder stored in one place brings on NFPA regs. possibly an approved powder magazine. 16 lbs + any other powder for other projects that you might have lying around could exceed the 25. I think I would limit the buys to 1/2 to 1/4 total quantities. This reduces the financial exposure, spreads the investment. Finally, at these quantities you might score a high quality Israel, Abu Dahbi, Czech, or Serbian supplier for completely assembled units cheaper than what you are going to be doing.

I'd also check out www.rozedist.com , they're the Zero Bullet distributors. Haven't done bidness with them in a long time, but the prices look okay, and they have a decent reputation.

I load my 9mm with 4 grains of Titegroup and a 125-gr lead projectile. Total cost is 4 cents for the bullet, 2 cents for the primer, 1 cent for powder and 3 cents for brass. Total cost is ten cents each. Since I get the brass for free my actual cost is roughly seven cents each.

I usually have 16 pounds of Titegroup on hand but that serves most of my pistol caliber needs and some subsonic .223 as well.
