If you were planning on loading 25,000 rds of 9mm, where would you order your components from to get the best prices? I'm guessing the powder and primers would be from powder Valley, but where do you get the best price on 115 or 124 gr FMJ bullets and 1X fired 9mm brass? Anyone have any experience buying in those quantities, or looked into it and know where the price breaks are? TIA

I was buying from Montana Gold. Six months ago they had the best prices on 9mm FMJ in both 115gr and 124gr. I am stocked up so I don't know what current prices are. Google Montana Gold bullets. They sell both 1000 and 5000 lots.

If I even thought about loading 25,000 rounds of 9mm with jacketed bullets, I'd lie down until the thought went away. That's commercial reloader quantities. I'd contact a wholesaler for all the components and forget retailers. Even thinking about retail would cause an aneurism. A wholesaler, maybe. Most of 'em won't sell to the general public either. The manufacturers won't either. You might run into legal considerations too. You might be closely looked at by the ATF and/or Homeland security.
Have you worked up a load for your pistol? There's no point even thinking about that many rounds you haven't. You can't begin to make a budget without knowing how much powder you'll need.
"...Just got 7k brass..." What brand? Any of it milsurp with crimped primers? Berdan primed? Hard to beat $100, though, if the brass is any good.
What press do you have? Rondog has a point.

Looking at starting a small war?
Seriously 25K rounds of ay ammo, even .22LR is a lot of ammo.

Montana Gold is a good bet and fast shipping. I would get some Wolf small pistol primers, and good luck on finding some 8# of powder these days. There was a post on another board that suggested that Hodgdon was only going to ship #1 bottles of powder for the next couple months.

I won't say who or what but let's just say that 25K 9mm is not out of hand for a few loaders I know of, just with stuff they have on hand.

If you want FMJ, TJ Conevera has 9mm FMJ for $78 a thousand shipped.
As far as powder/primers, Grafs, Wideners, Powder Valley, but everyone is out of stock on everything right now.

Brass, look around- 9mm is a common as dirt so it should be possible right away. Check with brassmanbrass.com. Or on the trading post section of this forum. You got a deal for $100/7K.

Sunray, "You might be closely looked at by the ATF and/or Homeland security.
" For what, practice ammo? Hopefully they have better things to do.
"...Just got 7k brass..." What brand? Any of it milsurp with crimped primers? Berdan primed?" Found 150 berdan in it and already resized. Mixed HS from an indoor range. Will be loading on a Loadmonster, should be fun. :what:

"Afy Looking at starting a small war? " Nope just a few of us practicing and training for competition. Nuthin wrong with that, right?

Evan, contacted TJ and got a reply this morning. :what: Wow, I was impressed to get a reply on a sunday morning. Will also be contacting all the others mentioned tomorrow and see what is in stock. Might :banghead: get primers locally:banghead: if necessary though. :cuss::cuss::cuss:

Bullseye good luck with that. Would love pictures of the stash... prior to your boating accident at the local lake. :)

Our local lake does have a deep spot near the middle...... But I do recycle, so I would try to capture the bullets in a trap and melt them, and of course clean up the brass and bring it home for the next round. Guess I won't be shooting at the lake.

whew...is there some NFA weapons involved here? I could see a subgun going through that much ammo, but 25K rnds would last me a looooonnnnggggg time. I envy anyone who gets to shoot that much! Good Luck!

I envy you and that kind of a set up. One of these day I would love to get going on that many rounds. I would love to see how the dies, and press hold up after 25k rounds. Dang 25k rounds of 9mm, O man im turning green over here.:D:D enjoy.

Yeah, at least as much fun as going to the dentist to have your wisdom teeth pulled.

With as much cash as you'll be saving on 25k you might consider an upgrade.

But of course it is, and they won't be here for long. There are a lot of people with a lot more than that on hand on a regular basis.

Yep, I cast my own as well, but this is for someone else. Just got 7k brass from a range for 100.00, so it has started.
Are you loading them for someone else or are they loading them? Just curious, even though I trust my reloads I don't let others shoot them.

Not really I'm a once a week steel plate shooter and its not hard to go through 2K centerfire and 2K+ rimfire in a month, so if 9mm was all I shot, 25K in a year would not be out of line with my wife also shooting once a month.

Also as far as people wondering about component storage, at 3-4 grs of W231, it's only 16lbs of powder. 2 8lbs jugs is nothing for some people.
