I recently aquired a Garand that has been converted to 25/06 with a Krieger barrel. A smith in Milwaukee was supposed to have completed it and then passed away.

Are there other similar conversions out there and are they successful?? Also what is the ballpark value of a well done conversion such as this.

Thanks in advance. RR

I know Fulton Armory is (or at least was the last time I looked at their site) doing .270 conversions for Garands.

Other than that, I don't know. I don't know anything about the reliability and such.

It should work just fine, so long as the gas port was done properly. The .25-06 is just a .30-06 necked down to .25. There are Garand smiths who do M1 conversions to any caliber based on the .30-06 or .308 cases.

No idea what it would be worth, though. I expect there's a pretty small market for that sort of thing...

A Krieger barrel and done up right, a test fire is in order here if allowed, I am thinking about $1000.00 retail value.

Have not shot it yet. Has a B-Square type scope mount and a Unertl 10x43 Vulture scope. Also appears to have had some trigger work done and the stock fit is very tight.

A little heavy for my taste for deer huntuing. Good caliber though.
