Hello;

I have a Yugo SKS, a Finnish M39 and an Stg 58 FAL rebuild that I need to sight in. Before I take it out to 100 yards, I would like to sight it in at a local range that is 25 yards.

What is the typical battlefield zero distance of the Yugo SKS, Finnish M39 and Stg 58?

How many inches high (or low) does this translate to at 25 yards?

Thanks,

-John

You can usually sight a centerfire rifle dead on at 25 yards and be fairly close at 100yards.

At any rate, it will get you close enough that further adjustment should be minimal when you get to the longer range.

Roughly at 25yds you will be on at about 250-300yds, at 100yds you will be about 1"-2" high. Different calibers will be higher or lower accordingly to weight of bullet.

Some ranges will have programs that enter all the variables and tell you where to hit at 25 for your desired zero.
Might be worth asking.

That's a perfect zero for hunting. A 150 gr .308 SMK at 2800 fps with a 25 yd 0 is 3" high at 135 yds and 3" low at 275 yds.
