The Rem model 7 youth I had would shoot sub MOA all day long with the Federal Premium factory loads in the 120gr Nosler Accu-tip.

In my recent test using Zak's H4350 load (40.7 gr) vs 42 gr RL-17 at 300 yards showed POI difference of 0.8 minute using 142 gr SMK. First I shot H4350 loads they were 3.6 minutes up from 100 zero, then I shot RL-17 loads and they impacted 2.5" high from my point of aim which was dead on @ 300 yards using H4350. As far as groups I just start playing with 142 gr SMK and they were OK, like 0.6 MOA, same day I shot my 6BR using 95gr VLD and them grouped 0.27 MOA@300 and 0.4MOA@500. I didn't have enough loads to test 260 @ 500, after my 300 yard test I only had 5 rounds which I loaded with 140gr SST, that's a hunting bullet, but I did fire them, and I miscalculated their trajectory, it was much flatter then what I thought, I dialed 9.8 minutes and first 3 shots hit 8" higher just scratching top of the target, then I corrected my scope and last 2 shots using 140 gr SST hit within a center of my target 2.5" apart. Two shot group doesn't show much, but for hunting bullet I think its not bad for 500 yard...

Well I should be able to through some numbers and groups up this coming weekend. I finally got the glass and mount and bases for the new LRP from Savage. I will test H4350 and Varget with 140gr Berger VLDs.

I know six people who use Rem. M7's in .260 exclusively for hunting and absolutely love them. Two of them first bought the "youth model" for their wives because the rifle fit their small stature. After shooting their wives rifles and seeing how well they killed deer, they bought the standard rifles for themselves . Their .300 mags now stay in the gun safe. One of these guys has also killed caribou and elk with his.
