270 wsm

Just wondering what powders you guys are having luck with in your 270 WSM's. I'm shooting a 140gr Accubond and H4831sc just isn't giving me what I want. 59.5 and 60.0 grains are giving me about 1 MOA. Looking at trying something different. Thanks for any advice.

I got my best accuracy using a 150 gr Sierra BTSP and IMR-7828 powder. In my Win Model 70, it turned out the best accuracy was near the max load for 7828. So far I haven't been able to get the same accuracy with the lighter bullets. But I haven't given up yet.

I use the same bullet with RL-19, and it is extremely accurate in my rifle. I worked up this load before RL-17 was available, and will try RL-17 next time I need powder.

All rifles like slightly differnet load but the most accurate load according to my Nosler manual for 140gr is 63gr of AA3100. Listed speed s 3116fps. I personaly load my WSM with 61gr of RL22 at 3182fps, I get good groups with that. While my 140gr Accubonds group better then I could ever shoot in the feild my best groups thus far have been with 130gr Ballistic Tips.

I get good/best groups with 64gn (max) AA3100 and 130gn TSX. Havent chrono'd yet or tried RL-17 either. The 3100 has been so accurate in my A-Bolt that I loaded 40rds and "called it good" for hunting for the next few seasons.

So far 140 sierra hpbt over a load of h-1000 is the most accurate in my mod 70 270wsm. Just picked up some rl-17 to try next.
