My wife loves scary movies.
28 Days Later is the only one that she had to walk out of the theatre because it was too scary.
I also like the fact that the tree-huggers caused the outbreak.

It did get VERY intense. It had my stomach in knots.
However, I have to say that the award for scariest movie must go to "The Ring."
I had flashbacks of that for a solid week or two in the mornings when I woke up, oddly enough, and it freaked me out something awful.
A movie that stays with you for that long and can scare you even during the daytime is pretty frickin' scary.
To keep this gun-related, they should have picked up some guns in 28 days.
I'll take a minigun or a 12er, thank you.

my gf liked 28 days later but was really freaked out by the ring. They are both good movies.

The movie was a great flick. The only problem was the total lack of firearms before the Army appeared. I mean, if I was trapped in London with zombies I would know right where to go to get a gun. And I would get at least one. Maybe the pacified Englanders do not know to get a gun to kill zombies. Besides that I loved it.

They only work in the movies.
I thought that movie was funny. Those zombies wouldn't last long in America......too many armed people.

Didn't get to see 28 Days Later when it was in the theaters around here. I want to though, so I'll get it once its out on DVD. I am going to go see Underworld on Wed. though. The Ring kind of freaked me out a bit too. But I really do like horror movies, and when I can find one that actually can get to me a bit, I'm really satisfied by it.
I'd have to say my fav zombie movies have to be the Romero "Dead" series (Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead). They have plenty of guns in them, but the handling is pretty horrible. But then it wouldn't be a good cheezy zombie flick if it was realistic.

The movie was a great twist on the old zombie theme: the zombies were fast, agile, engraged, and CAME AFTER YOU.
Had a very BRITISH feel to it; not just the lack of firearms, but the style of the film, the dreary outlook, the idea of toughing it out even if it's hopeless....that whole stiff upper lip bit. Very psychological film, too.
It was scary, it really was.
There needs to be more scary movies. Most horror movies these days aren't scary. Most are just stupid and excessively violent/gory.

Ditto on The Ring and 28 Days. Good flicks, and scary. I watched Cabin Fever last week. Terrible. Truly sucked. Very gory, but not scary.
There was fairly minimal firearm usage in this flick. Absolutely THE WORST firearm handling I've seen in a movie in a long time. I saw AD's, ND's, and total disregard for any safe firearm handling.
Do not waste your time and money on Cabin Fever.

28 Days was great, the music was probably the best part.
I didn't get to see the Ring, but Alien was pretty damn scary. Maybe because I watched it home alone when I was a kid at night with the dishwasher and dryer going and all the windows open Reehaww!

if you like 'the ring' you should find the new video from A Perfect Circle for their song 'weak and powerless'. the character moves eerily similar to the woman in 'the ring'.

Them thar zombies are scary critter's!! Waiting for House Of the Dead to come out too! I think that is at least a two gun movie!! Much rather deal with zombies than big carniverous bugs...i.e. starshiptroopers.
I agree with Yayarx.....one needs to know where the cool weapons are stashed....just in case!! Address of ranges, sporting goods stores, imorters/exporters of fine impliments of destruction, gunshops and military armories, etc.
I was living in Brooklyn working disaster ops for the red cross when I read The Stand by Stephen King! I already had my avenues of retreat mapped out, MRE's and water jugs in the closet and firearm or three, ammo and a nice moutainbike(excellant urban E&E transport!) set up(Working Disaster warps the mind!!)
But the silly dude in the book that went through the tunnel filled with corpses and NO flashlight...made me laugh, then I added the addresses to the NYPD Precincts that hosted Emergency Service Units...who had MP-5's in their trucks!!

For another good (if campy) Zombie flick that has plenty of guns, see if you can find a copy of the Japanese film "Versus". Zombie/yakuza/escaped convict/reincarnated samurai/police flick... guns, swords, and the undead. What more could you ask for in a movie?

I really didn't like 28 Days Later, mostly due to the fact of I can't stand scenes that are chopped up like a stobelight. Maybe Im just partial to Romero's style of zombie movies.
It had its Euro touch though, notice the full-frontal nudity, but really chopped up scenes where there was violence. I dunno, I went in expecting the next best thing since Dawn of the Dead, walked out disappointed.
