284 Win Barrel Twist Rate for 150 to 165 grain bullet

I'm building a 24" bbl hunting rifle in 284 win. I will be shooting 150 to 165 grain bullets. One major manu. Recommends 1 in 10 for 150s and 1 in 9.5 for 162s. Most factory 284 win rifles came with 1 in 10 but one manufacturer sold them at 1 in 9.5.

I see some 7mm 08s come 1 in 9.5

I'm thinking I should go 1 in 9.5......

I'd go 1-9 or faster, tho a 1-9.5 would be fine for 150-160 class projectiles.

Again I tend to err on the side of too much twist, rather than not enough. None of my 7s are "fast" twisted tho, all are 9.5s since at this point I haven't built a custom 7 yet.
