Those seem nice. I've never played with one, but did a sheath for an Eskabar last year and they're similar. Good blade!

Looks deadly and purposeful, Sam.

Wonder if it feels as good as the original Short version.

I'm going to suggest you DON'T want a double edge blade for inverted carry, as you show...however, a hawkbill... ;)

Sam, in your copious free time, do you have scales available? Curious as to weight, for reference. This one's Carl's, right?

Yes, this is intended to go to Carl. I don't have a second set of scales right on hand, but for lack of a more precise measurement, they weigh nothing. I think the pin and tube weigh more than the handles. I don't have a postal scale or food scale so that's about as good as I can get. Hmmm....might be able to measure it in grains on my beam scale and convert.

Wonder if it feels as good as the original Short version.
That would be entirely in the preference of the user. It is very different. My problem here is that I come at this entirely from the tool-user's view, rather than the weaponist's background, so I'm forever picturing using these for tasks, and gaging how they'd feel in the hand when grasped for utility purposes, which I understand the true martial artist would not do. :)

Sheath:

The whole thing drops in the pocket and pops off with a bit of thumb pressure. The lanyard can go around the belt to keep track of the sheath if it comes out of the pocket.

Can you see them as attachments?

Thanks, Sam! :)

The loop can also be used to pop the sheath off when forcefully pulling the knife from your pocket.

Oh Sam...

We need to talk.
You have my cell number...
And do these by chance come in O1 steel?

Hi
. My name is Steve and I am addicted to fine craftsmanship, and custom work, and attention to detail and...and...and...

*wants-one*

Heh heh... Hey Steve! I've not done any O1 yet. I've had such good experience with W2, 1095 and 5160 that I just haven't branched out. Probably will pick some up though. I will let you know when I do!

Still working on some project or another 'most every night. I'm desperate to catch up on all the blades folks have asked for. I should seriously quit my day job... Well...no. Ha! :)

Sam, your tool user's background combined with John's martial arts background makes a great fusion of design. I hypothesize that this is in part why so many here think so highly of your knives.

Feedback from the recipient (a fellow martial artist): Got it and it feels and looks amazing. The handle is the perfect length and the finger 'guard' and the covex back make it really easy to handle. Thanks so much to both of you guys!
