3-gun-comp-NC questions- help!

zach here! wondering about a 3 gun comp in piedmont of NC,
im only 13 but i wanted to get started into a good tactical comp, since i been shooting since i was 4.
i shoot an 870 in 12 gauge, a sks with 20 rd mag, and a beretta 9mm 92sb, could i use my ruger 10/22 with drum on it? thought it'd be fun, yall know of any scheduled comps in my area, charlotte NC? which rifle should i use?

Take a look at the directory at http://www.ncrpa.org/faq/ncshooting.shtml for at least a partial list of ranges in NC. You'll want to look into practical shooting (IPSC, USPSA etc) organizations for information about how to get started.

As a junior, I think most place would allow you to shoot the 10/22. Cheaper & easier to feed.

have you shot any pistol matches yet? IDPA/USPSA?

that might be a good way to ease into it and let folks know how responsible and safe you are

Wannabee--take a look at www.uspsa.org under "Club Finder". You will need an adult to accompany you, and they will be required to stay right next to you as you run a stage. Expect an inordinate amount of attention.
